Beijing Convention attracts record attendance

- Registration now stopped -

A never-expected avalanche of registrations has forced BIR to take the difficult decision to stop the registration process for its upcoming Convention in Beijing, from 28 to 31 May 2006.

BIR leadership deemed necessary to limit the number of attending delegates in order to ensure a quality service as well as ideal networking conditions to those participating and to guarantee overall security. For the same reasons, access to the Imperial Evening was closed over 2 weeks ago.

This Convention will be the best attended one in the last 20 years of BIR history, with over 1.100 delegates and more than 300 accompanying persons.

The success is not only due to China being the ideal destination for our recyclers, but also to a highly interesting programme with renowned guest speakers and topical workshops on "China" and "India". We would like to draw your particular attention to the guest speaker of the General Assembly, Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter, who will give a special guest presentation on "China and the Economies of the Future" (see our news dated 3rd May 2006).

We deeply regret that 'latecomers' will not be able to take advantage of our Convention and we recommend that you attend one of our upcoming conventions (www.bir.org, "Events", "Future Conventions").
