SERVICES AT THE CONVENTION
 
 

1. Welcome and Registration
The Welcome and Registration Desk will be located in the foyer of the China World Hotel (level -1) - see signage.

Opening hours:

Sunday 28 May 2006 from 14.00 to 18.00
Monday 29 May 2006 from 08.30 to 18.00
Tuesday 30 May 2006 from 08.30 to 18.00
Wednesday 31 May 2006 from 08.30 to 17.00


2. Access to the Convention and Exhibition

Access to the meetings, exhibition and hospitality areas, trading sessions, luncheons and social events is restricted to duly registered delegates and guests at the Convention and wearing their badge. Badges will be thoroughly checked at the entrance of the Convention area.

Lost badges and tickets will not be replaced.


3. List of participants

On arrival at the registration desk, each registered delegate will receive from the convention secretariat the official participants list mentioning delegates’ full names, company names and addresses, the hotel where they are staying and the division codes which will allow the delegates to identify their potential customers. This list will only include delegates whose registration forms have been received by CITS before 15 May 2006.

An additional list mentioning the late registrants will be available at the convention registration desk.

As from 1 April 2006, the provisional list of participants will be available to delegates of the BIR Gold Member companies on the “Members Only” page of the BIR website www.bir.org (click ‘Beijing Convention’).


4. Hospitality

Complimentary soft drinks, coffee and tea will be served from 08.30 to 18.00 and a cash bar will be available from 11.00 to lunchtime and from 14.00 to 18.00 in the exhibition and hospitality areas. Coffee, tea and refreshments will be available in the convention registration area on Sunday 28 May as from 14.00.


5. BIR Gold Member Club

Delegates representing companies that are affiliated to the BIR Gold Member Club enjoy special discount registration fees. They also have the privilege of using the Gold member lounge, which BIR reserves exclusively for their use (with complimentary coffee/tea, secretariat facilities and access to Internet and e-mails). 6. Simultaneous interpretation

Simultaneous interpretation will be provided at all plenary sessions in English, French, German and Chinese. If you intend to make a speech or to present a report at one of the plenary meetings, please send 6 copies of your presentation to the BIR Secretariat in Brussels before 15 May 2006.


7. LME and COMEX quotations

These quotations will be provided at all times for BIR delegates dealing with non-ferrous metals.


8. Press
A press room will be accessible to registered journalists throughout the Convention and a press table will also enable them to display their trade publications on recovery and recycling in the Convention area.

Reservation of advertising space in our list of participants :
As usual, all companies attending our Beijing Convention are entitled to place an advertisement in the list of participants. To take advantage of this offer, please fill in the special flyer enclosed in this programme and return it along with your payment to the BIR secretariat, before 1 May 2006.
